Manresan Educators Lenten Recollection: Pilgrims of Hope

Manresa School teachers and staff dedicated the morning of March 8, 2025, to their annual Lenten Recollection in the Main AVR. Guided by Rev. Fr. Erwin Arandia, SJ, the participants embarked on a spiritual journey themed To Love and Serve as Pilgrims of Hope.

The day commenced with a "kamustahan," a sharing of personal experiences and emotions, creating a space for vulnerability before God. This led to a period of contemplative silence and prayer, allowing individuals to center themselves and find rest in God's presence.

Fr. Arandia, known affectionately as Fr. Bok used biblical perspectives, videos, and real-life stories, to expound the meaning of hope as a faith experience rooted in God's unwavering presence. He emphasized that hope stems from the love exemplified by Jesus's sacrifice and resurrection, and discussed the fruits of hope in daily life. He encouraged participants to be beacons of hope, particularly to the marginalized, the elderly, the young, and the environment.

Following a break, participants engaged in personal reflection, thanksgiving prayer, and group sharing based on provided reflection questions.

Fr. Arandia synthesized the group discussions during the general assembly, highlighting insights from various age groups. The recollection concluded with a communal prayer, Hold My Hands, reinforcing the importance of mutual support and reliance on God

The recollection culminated in a solemn celebration of the Holy Eucharist in El Rosarillo chapel.
