Sr. Mª Inez Furtado, F.I. and Sr. Graciela Francovig FI, Superior General in the previous six-year term 2019-2025

Manresa School joins the Hijas de Jesus Congregation and the entire Family of Mo. Candida in joyful praise and thanksgiving to God for the re-election of Sr. Graciela Francovig, FI, as Superior General of the Hijas de Jesus on May 1, 2025. She will lead the government of the Congregation for the next six-year term. We offer our support as she begins her new six-year term of service to the Congregation's governance.

In early 2024, personnel in Hijas de Jesus schools and apostolic centers worldwide participated in an Orientation on General Congregation (GC) XIX. This orientation was followed by consultative reflection and "conversations in Spirit," facilitated by local superiors. The purpose was to gather input from lay collaborators, whose contributions would be discussed and integrated into the formulation of postulates for the General Congregation.

Held in Rome and attended by Congregated Sisters from different Provinces, the XIX General Assembly officially opened during Easter Time on a significant date: April 21, 2025, the day Pope Francis passed away.

The XIX General Congregation's significant agenda included studying the realities of the Congregation and considering the valuable contributions of lay collaborators from different centers and Provinces; and the crucial election of the Superior General and her consultors. Rooted in Ignatian spirituality, the assembly's activities and tasks were deliberately conducted within a framework of Eucharistic celebrations, moments of silence, reflection and prayer, with a constant invocation of the Holy Spirit and the Triune God for wisdom and the discernment of the Father's holy will.

May God's abundant blessings be upon you, may His protection surround you, and may He keep you always in His loving embrace, just as He blesses our entire Congregation with His unwavering love and constant presence.

Manresa School also join the Sisters in praying for the election of Sr. Graciela's General Councilors.
