Investigation to Presentation: Science Investigatory Project (SIP) Oral Presentation of Grade 6 Pupils

Science begins with curiosity—the simple act of asking questions about how and why things happen. It is through investigation and discovery that young minds begin to understand the world around them. This year, the Grade 6 pupils showcased their creativity, curiosity, and teamwork as they worked on different Science Investigatory Project (SIP) topics as part of their Performance Task in Science with integration in Reading and Language for this school year. Through this activity, pupils were given opportunity to explore questions, investigate ideas, and discover answers through experimentation.

On March 13, 2026, selected groups of students from Grade 6 participated in the Science Investigatory Project Oral Presentation. These selected groups were the official nominees for the Exemplary Young Scientist Award for the Science Investigatory Project. The groups presented their investigatory projects, wherein their work was evaluated by the panelists Ms. Jinky L. Ferrer, Mr. Limuel J. Lamoc, and Mr. Nikko R. Jesoro.

The program began with a prayer led by Calie Summer P. Baria, followed by the introduction. After this, the panelists were introduced, and the program proceeded with the oral presentation process.

This activity allowed the pupils to experience the different steps in scientific investigation. The process started with identifying a problem or formulating a question, followed by gathering information and data through research and experiments. After completing their investigations, the pupils carefully organized their findings and wrote their research papers. Aside from research and writing, pupils also developed their presentation skills. Through this, they learned how to clearly explain their projects, present their results, and confidently answer questions from the panelists. The activity also encouraged teamwork, responsibility, and cooperation, as each group member contributed to the success of their project.

Overall, the Science Investigatory Project was a meaningful and valuable learning experience for the Grade 6 pupils. From investigation to writing and presenting their work, pupils discovered the importance of curiosity, patience, teamwork, and dedication. The SIP journey showed that learning science is not only about finding answers, but also about exploring ideas, solving problems, and growing as young researchers.
