Sci-Math Week 2026: A Journey of Discovery Toward a Brighter Future

Have you ever dreamed of traveling through space and time? From solving puzzles to exploring scientific wonders, Junior Manresans embarked on an exciting journey of discovery during Sci-Math Week 2026, held from October 13 to 20, 2026. Guided by the theme, “Explore. Understand. Create: United in Filiation and Fraternity, We Explore, Understand, and Create a Future of Hope through Science and Mathematics for a Humane, Just, and Sustainable World,” the celebration highlighted how scientific inquiry, mathematical reasoning, collaboration, and creativity can help shape a better future.

Throughout the week, pupils participated in a variety of engaging activities that transformed learning into an exciting adventure. These experiences allowed them to apply their knowledge, strengthen their critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, and discover how Science and Mathematics play an important role in everyday life.

Adding color and knowledge to the school environment, the Science and Mathematics Banderitas activity invited pupils to create two banderitas featuring fascinating facts about the two subjects. Through this creative endeavor, they shared their learning with the school community while expressing their artistic talents.

The spirit of adventure continued with the Sci-Math Escape Room: Time Travellers Edition. Each section faced a series of challenges that required logical reasoning, critical thinking, and teamwork to escape the room. The activity reminded pupils that solving problems becomes more meaningful when everyone works together toward a common goal.

Creativity and quick thinking took center stage in Sci-rades Pictionary. Each Responsible Science Team (RST) selected a representative through a draw-lots activity to illustrate a given word or concept while teammates raced to guess the answer. Every correct response earned one point, turning scientific and mathematical concepts into an exciting test of teamwork and communication.

For those eager to uncover fascinating discoveries, the Science Discovery Wall offered a space where pupils could share interesting scientific facts. This activity encouraged curiosity and allowed Manresans to learn from one another, demonstrating that even a single fact can spark a deeper interest in the wonders of Science.

Meanwhile, the Science Spark: 60-Second Simple Science Experiment Showdown challenged pupils to demonstrate their scientific curiosity through a one-minute video featuring a simple experiment they could perform at home. By observing scientific principles in action, participants discovered that learning Science extends beyond the classroom and into everyday experiences.

Speed, accuracy, and numerical skills were put to the test in Blitz to 100. Responsible Teams (RTs) took turns circling numbers in ascending order until they reached 100. The challenge encouraged pupils to think quickly, remain focused, and cooperate as they worked toward their goal.

The excitement continued with Eggsplorers of the Day, where pupils answered three questions to demonstrate their knowledge. Those who answered correctly received prizes, making the activity both rewarding and enjoyable while encouraging them to explore new ideas.

Academic excellence also took the spotlight during the Sci-Math Quiz Bee. Each section competed in an elimination round, with the winners advancing to the main competition. The event showcased the pupils' preparation, determination, and understanding of scientific and mathematical concepts, celebrating not only knowledge but also perseverance and a love for learning.

Keeping the excitement alive each day was Daily Dose of Sci-Math, which presented pupils with a Science- or Mathematics-related question. Answers were submitted through a designated drop box, and one winner was selected daily. This activity encouraged Junior Manresans to stay curious, think critically, and embrace the challenge of discovering something new every day.

As Sci-Math Week 2026 culminated on October 20, Junior Manresans celebrated more than the knowledge they had gained. They also cherished the friendships strengthened, challenges overcome, and discoveries shared throughout the celebration. Each activity served as a reminder that learning becomes more meaningful when curiosity meets creativity and knowledge is strengthened through collaboration.

Ultimately, Sci-Math Week 2026 demonstrated that Science and Mathematics are more than academic subjects; they are powerful tools for understanding the world, solving real-life problems, and creating opportunities for a better tomorrow. United in filiation and fraternity, Manresans continue to explore, understand, and create a future filled with hope, guided by the vision of building a humane, just, and sustainable world.
