Manresa School Celebrates Mass of the Holy Spirit

The Mass of the Holy Spirit on September 6, 2024 was presided over by Fr. Joseph “Jolan” Landero. It was celebrated in the school’s El Rosarillo chapel which was attended by the FI sisters, administrators, school staff and some teachers, maintenance personnel and neighbors.  The Mass was live streamed via the school’s official YouTube channel and was attended online by the teachers, and the students and their families.

The Mass was graced by the presence of the MSAA president, Mr. Mike Togle and some BCMF officers. The Mass was sponsored by the MSPA officers and Board of school year 2023-2024.

Before the Mass commenced, Ms. Concepcion Villagracia made an introduction about the Holy Spirit and the posters of the 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit particularly Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Knowledge, Fortitude, Piety and Fear of the Lord were presented one by one and placed near the Altar. In his homily, Fr. Jolan reiterated the important gifts of the Holy Spirit and encouraged the community to pray for the gift of peace that will vivify and enable everyone - - the students, parents, teachers, staff, sisters and personnel, to work peacefully, meaningfully and continuously on their particular tasks and mission. Fr. Jolan also encouraged everyone before the end of the Mass to pause for a while and ask to the Holy Spirit for a particular gift for help and guidance in one’s life.

At the end of the Mass, the statues of St. Michael the Archangel, a spiritual warrior and protector against evil, and St. Raphael, the healer were blessed by Fr. Jolan.  The statue of St. Michael was donated by the MSPA Officers and Board of school year 2023-2024, while the statue of St. Raphael was donated by the family of Mrs. Roehlyn and Dr. Lemuel Del Rosario whose children’s names, Raprap and Micmic, were named after St. Raphael and St. Michael. Thank you MSPA Officers and Mrs. Roehlyn and Doc Lem and your family for these beautiful gifts to Manresa School. The Manresan community were grateful for these statues which were be placed inside the school chapel for the Saints’ protection and healing and for the promotion of devotions for these two Saints among the school personnel and students. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide our thoughts and actions for God’s greater glory and the good of our neighbors and may St. Michael and St. Raphael be our life's protector and healer.
