Have you ever seen the genuine smile on a student’s face? This was a glimpse of the Vision-Mission Day, celebrated by Manresa School, with the help of its student council leaders, last September 24, 2024. Manresa School, which constantly promotes their maxim, “Tatak Manresa: Kapatid sa Kapwa” has now innovated a new idea to contribute to spreading the moral identity of their Vision-Mission statement by holding the Vision-Mission Day in its place.

The event started with the introduction of our ates or coordinators in our advisory classroom, Mary Daniella Rose S. Taon and Jasmine P. Balmores, who taught us the values and importance of the school’s Vision-Mission statement through their versatile and active activites to participate in. What kept us hooked was how well all the people coordinated this event, they surely put every last effort into making sure, through education, that the pupils of Manresa School never take this event and its learnings for granted.

The school’s dedication and commitment to teaching young children, like me, to this particular goal strengthens me, as a person, mentally and physically. Some memorable experiences that day from my classmates and our coordinators that they recalled were:

Vision-Mission Day was super fun, somehow it felt different from most activities the coordinators also did so much to make the day fun”- Caitlin Samonte

“Vision-Mission Day was fun and the entire day was memorable with so many activities, to participate in” – Alexis Gregorio

“It was so fun and even while having games/activities it still showed how being a student role model is like/how you could be a better person” – Charly Matias

Personally, for me, at first, I was nervous kasi it was my first time teaching a class- specifically the highest-grade ng elementary, which is grade 6. Although I was nervous, my first interaction with the class was fun. I really tried to match my energy with the students” -Ate Jasmine Balmores, coordinator

As a Grade 6 Student, this is a key event in the Hijas De Jesus congregation. Not only does it helps students encourage to develop themselves through integral Christian education, but also it embodies and reforms the student as lifelong children of God, responsible student leaders, and as a useful steward of God’s creation and all of this in the span of one day.

I am very proud to be a Manresan, to serve and help others, in our own little ways, and this event showed me that I, and other brothers and sisters that are part of the Manresa school community, must always uphold the values of a true Manresan, to be globally competent, self-actualized, and Christ-centered people in the eyes of God. And, most importantly, we must always honor Jesus, poor and humble, as our model. “In Jesus we have everything, without Him everything we have is lost.”
