Mentoring Program: Mentors-Mentees Encounter
Mindful of the needs of the new employees, Manresa School provides utmost support and assistance to the new faculty and staff through the Mentoring Program. This particular program specifically aims to provide assistance and support to the mentees through the accompaniment of their mentors.
The school Principals, Sr. Edhen Mae Paranga, F.I. and Sr. Gemma K. Doguiles, F.I. conducted orientations to the new employees about the program. While Mrs. Fe Daphne Goitia conducted separate sessions to the mentees for their expectations and better understanding of the program, and to the selected mentors for their roles and responsibilities toward their mentees.
After a series of talks and sessions about the Mentoring Program, the new grade school teachers and staff finally met their mentors on November 12, while the high school mentors-mentees encounter took place on November 20, 2024.
The conducive set-up and refreshing snacks set the mood for a beautiful beginning that started with familial introductions and intimate sharing of mentees’ goals to their mentors. Sr. Edhen and Sr. Gemma welcomed the mentors and mentees respectively with their inspiring messages of profound words of encouragement, love and gratitude for everyone. A deeper sense of belongingness, inclusion, and rapport between the mentors and mentees and among the participants were deeply felt during the session. The praying moment that gave space for the group to pray for each other was touching and sacred. For the mentees, their mentors are more than guides. They are confidants and shoulders to lean on in times of greater needs and friends ready to celebrate their success and achievements.
With the support, guidance and accompaniment of their mentors, it is hoped that the new teachers and staff may acquire deeper knowledge and understanding of the school culture as they carry out their daily tasks and responsibilities; continuously grow and develop professionally with ease, confidence and fulfillment; achieve their personal goals to greater heights and be able to contribute effectively to the attainment of the school’s vision and mission.
May this encounter pave the way for a more beautiful, meaningful and fruitful journey of the new employees as members of the educative family of St. Candida and as Manresan educators.
