JHS Vision-Mission Day 2025: Manresans Unite as One Heart for Every Kapwa
NOV 22
Last November 21, 2025, the High School Department celebrated its Vision-Mission Day 2025 with the theme “True Tatak Manresan: One Heart for Every Kapwa.” Students were divided into six groups or “houses”: Kapwa, Kapatid, Makadiyos, Makatao, Pag-asa, and Serbisyo.
The day began with a morning assembly at the New Gym, with Sabina Louise F. Alejandro, MSGSB Grade 10 Batch Representative, leading the prayer. Keyshia D. Monterio, SHSSG Governor and VMD Chairperson, together with Jiannah Maica M. Santos, MSGSB President and VMD Co-Chairperson, introduced the flow of the program. Afterwards, the assembly concluded with the dance performance by the group “Hijas on the Beat.” From 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM, students proceeded to their designated classrooms for the camp orientation, which opened with an icebreaker activity. Students formed inner and outer circles, moved clockwise and counterclockwise to music, and introduced themselves to whoever ended up in front of them once the music stopped. After the activity, Sr. Normida M. Marquez, F.I. – RCA and Jacques V. Ausan, former SHSSG Governor (S.Y. 2024-2025), delivered messages emphasizing that being a Manresan is not defined by medals or grades, but by the way one treats another. They also highlight that the purpose of VM Day is to show how these values can be applied in daily life. From 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM, students participated in Clue Room, One Flame, One Vision Concert & Play, and Mission Quest, following a rotating schedule across the three clusters: Cluster 1: House Kapatid & House Kapwa: One Flame, One Vision Concert & Play, Mission Quest, Clue Room, Cluster 2: House Makadiyos & House Makatao: Mission Quest, Clue Room, One Flame, One Vision Concert & Play, Cluster 3: House Pag-asa & House Serbisyo: Clue Room, One Flame, One Vision Concert & Play, Mission Quest. The Clue Room, held in various classrooms, challenged groups of students with puzzles such as riddles and ciphers, hidden letters, blindfold maze tasks, and spot-the-difference activities.
The second activity, the One Flame, One Vision Concert & Play, was held at the Main AVR and was hosted by MSGSB Auditor Martina Isabelle B. Puzon. Three bands performed: Ripple Effect for Houses Kapatid & Kapwa, Ugly Ducklings for Houses Makadiyos & Makatao, and Day 42 for Houses Pag-asa & Serbisyo. Following the musical performances, the Vybe Club staged a short play titled Tatak Manresan. Directed by Therese Custodio, the play followed three students exploring the true meaning of being a Tatak Manresan. The cast—Careen Ordialez, Alan Bondoc, and Zaina Bisuna—brought the story to life.
The third activity, Mission Quest, was held at the New Gym and was hosted by Ariane Halim, MSGSB Grade 8 Batch Representative, and PE teacher Ms. Nicole Ann Matin-ao. This activity involved students playing different minigames, such as Red Light, Green Light, Tatak in Motion, and Obstacle Course. Overall winners per cluster: Cluster 1: House Kapatid Cluster 2: House Makadiyos Cluster 3: House Serbisyo. With the event coming to an end, the closing ceremony was held at the New Gym, hosted by Keyshia D. Monterio and Jiannah Maica M. Santos. Selected students shared their reflections on the day’s activities, followed by the awarding of houses. Awardees: Christ-Centeredness: House Pag-asa, Self-Actualization: House Makatao, Stewardship: House Kapatid, Globally Competent: House Kapwa, Service: House Serbisyo, Humility: House Makadiyos, Best in Tatak Manresan: House Kapatid. Following the awarding of houses, the closing remarks were delivered by Keyshia D. Monterio, and the event ended with a prayer led by SHSSG Auditor Edwin Noel A. Tantongco. This Vision-Mission Day 2025 concluded with students gaining a deeper understanding of what it means to be a true Tatak Manresan. Consistent with Jacques V. Ausan’s message, the activities were designed to teach and reinforce these core values. Through each challenge and performance, the students were able to apply the values of stewardship, Christ-centeredness, service, and humility. Sr. Normida M. Marquez, F.I.'s message also reflects the play that was performed by the Vybe Club: being a true Manresan is not measured by medals or grades, but by consistently living these values in everyday life.
