Nourishing the Soul: Faculty and Staff Lenten Recollection
FEB 28
The faculty and Staff gathered in the serene stillness of the El Rosarillo Chapel last February 28, 2026 for a half day of spiritual renewal and reflection.
Guided by Fr. Victor Baltazar, SJ, the Lenten recollection served as a timely pause for the community to recalibrate their hearts as the liturgical season unfolds.
The recollection centered on “The Questions Jesus Asked.” Three pivotal questions - What do you seek?, Do you love me? and Who do you say that I am? Fr. Vic provided a profound deepening of these inquiries, explaining their significance in the Biblical context showing Jesus’ love and sacrifice, and the depths of one’s spiritual journey and relationship with Him. After the Talk, the participants were invited to pray, reflect and write down one specific question that resonated with their current state of life. While the session focused on immediate insights, Fr. Vic encouraged everyone to bring the remaining questions home, allowing them to serve as anchors for private prayer and meditation throughout the Lenten celebration.
The sharing sessions allowed each one to voice their reflections and find common grounds in their life’s experiences, journey, and shared mission as Manresan educators. It was a grace-filled moment of openness, humility, gratitude and quest for holiness. The activity reached its peak with the celebration of the Holy Mass, the ultimate source of communion and grace.
The community felt deeply nourished and grateful - not just by the physical sustenance provided by the Sisters, but by the “spiritual food” that fortified their souls. After partaking of the meal, everyone departed for home carrying the warmth of God’s love and wisdom, ready to continue their service with renewed faith and purpose.
