PEAC Empowers School Leaders at the 2026 K to 10 Certifiers Bootcamp in Cebu

The Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) officially launched its 2026 K to 10 Certifiers Bootcamp on May 7 at the Summit Galleria Cebu. The intensive three-day training brought together 356 school administrators from across the regions, all focused on a singular, vital mission: strengthening the quality assurance mechanisms for Kindergarten to Grade 6 (K to 6) and Junior High School (JHS) institutions.

The bootcamp opened with a welcome address from Dr. Rhodora Angela Fernandez-Ferrer, Executive Director of PEAC. Dr. Ferrer provided a comprehensive overview of PEAC’s strategic mandate and its critical role in managing the Government Assistance to Students and Teachers in Private Education (GASTPE) program. She emphasized that certifiers act as the gatekeepers of academic excellence, ensuring that government-subsidized programs yield maximum impact for Filipino learners.

The core of the three-day workshop focused on mastering the framework used to evaluate private schools. Guided by educational experts Dr. Miguel Q. Rapatan and Dr. Ma. Helena Desiree Terre, participants dived deep into the Core and Support areas of two critical evaluation tools:

  • The 2024 JHS Certification Assessment Instrument (CAI)

  • The 2025 K to 6 Certification Assessment Instrument (CAI)

Beyond pedagogy and school management, the bootcamp addressed modern administrative essentials. Mr. Eimann P. Evarola led specialized sessions on Information Security and Data Privacy, equipping certifiers to handle sensitive institutional data safely. Meanwhile, Mr. Bronzon Patrick F. Del Rosario walked attendees through the updated PEAC Certification Guidelines to ensure standardized, fair, and transparent evaluation processes.

A major highlight of the three-day event was the 2nd Service Awards for PEAC JHS Certifiers, which paid tribute to 59 exceptional educators. These awards recognized individuals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty, honoring their unwavering commitment, strict professionalism, and invaluable contributions to the Educational Service Contracting (ESC) scheme. Through their meticulous certification of participating schools over the years, these certifiers have been instrumental in maintaining high standards of private education. Among the distinguished honorees was Manresa School's very own Mr. Eleazar Solas, who was recognized for his dedicated years of service and profound impact as a PEAC certifier.

By certifying participating schools over the years, these awardees have played a monumental role in maintaining high educational standards, ensuring that private institutions remain robust partners in national development.

As the bootcamp concluded, the newly trained and re-energized certifiers left Cebu equipped with sharper tools, clearer guidelines, and a renewed commitment to guiding Philippine private schools toward continuous improvement.
