Manresa School Conducts Pre-In-Service Training for Newly Hired Personnel for Academic Year 2026-2027

In preparation for the upcoming Academic Year 2026–2027, Manresa School formally welcomed its newly hired teachers and staff through a comprehensive Pre-In-Service Training (Pre-INSET) held from May 11 to May 21, 2026. The intensive orientation and training program sought to integrate new personnel into the institution's academic, cultural, and spiritual framework.

This year’s training was guided by the profound theme: "Rooted in Filiation-Fraternity: Witnesses of Hope and Joy for a More Humane and Just World." The In-Service Training aimed to anchor the incoming educators in the school's core identity while equipping them with the practical tools necessary to inspire 21st-century learners.

The first leg of the training, which commenced on Monday, May 11, focused heavily on spiritual foundation and identity. Following a warm welcome and the presentation of administrators, head of offices, and the Hijas de Jesus (FI) Sisters by Ms. Yolanda N. Cruz, the new hires spent the day immersing themselves in the life and charism of the school's Mother Foundress, St. Candida Maria de Jesus. This was followed by a deep dive into the school's educational philosophy, Our Characteristic Way of Educating (OCWE), spearheaded by Mr. Emson M. Petilla. The subsequent days expanded on institutional expectations. Ms. Imelda O. Solivet facilitated sessions on the Vision, Mission, and Institutional Objectives (VMIO) alongside a survey regarding the Catholic Educators. Mrs. Iby M. Paquibot introduced the history and culture of Manresa School, while Mr. Jojit E. Ledesma discussed the global landscape of education through the Global Compact on Education (GCE).

As the training progressed, the new faculty and staff shifted focus toward day-to-day operations, administrative protocols, and student support services. The schedule systematically covered crucial facets of the institution. Ms. Marjorie O. Grefal oriented the group on the Faculty Handbook, standard operating procedures, and initial ranking, followed by an induction program. Later in the week, she also led a presentation on Career Pathing and Needs Assessment. The attendees also received comprehensive orientations on Community Extension Services from Mr. Ariel M. Cañete, Guidance Services from Mrs. Edarlyn A. Lumbao, and Library Services from Mr. John Ashley D. Jorda. Mr. Patrick M. Bugay and Mr. William Abadilla also laid out the frameworks for the Pastoral Program, Discipline Office, and student services. To familiarize everyone with their physical environment, Assistant Principals and Subject Area Coordinators guided the new hires on a full campus tour.

The latter half of the training ensured that the new teachers and stadd are prepared to meet modern academic and technological demands. Mr. Eleazar D. Solas presented crucial sessions on the PAASCU Orientation and the school's Quality Assurance Program, emphasizing Manresa’s continuous commitment to high standards of excellence. Recognizing the vital role of digital literacy in modern pedagogy, Mr. Nikko R. Jesoro, alongside the Grade School Subject Area Coordinators, conducted an intensive hands-on Technology Training.

The final days of the intensive training solidified the personnel's practical and spiritual alignment. On May 21, classroom management strategies were mapped out by department under the leadership of the Assistant Principals. The administrative loop was closed with a session on compensation and benefits led by Sr. Lorna G. Genovate, FI, and a discussion on the Determination of the 19th General Congregation (GC) by Sr. Gemma K. Doguiles, FI.

The extensive orientation process is set to find its spiritual culmination on June 11, 2026, when the new teachers and staff gather once more for a dedicated Recollection.

As these new educators’ step into their roles for School Year 2026–2027, they carry with them not just administrative guidelines and technical skills, but the profound mission to be true "witnesses of hope and joy" to the youth, making the world a more humane and just place, one classroom at a time.
