Bida ang Saya! Manresa School Celebrates St. Candida’s 181st Birthday with Nostalgic Joy
Today, May 31, 2026, Manresa School community unites in spirit to honor the 181st birthday our beloved Foundress, St. Candida Maria de Jesus.
The Manresa School community came together in a beautiful display of faith and vibrant energy to honor the 181st birthday of its beloved Foundress, St. Candida Maria de Jesus. Held on Friday, May 29, 2026, the celebration perfectly balanced solemn gratitude with pure, nostalgic fun, uniting the faculty and staff as one big, joyful family.
The celebration commenced with a meaningful paraliturgy. Manresa School Educative Community gathered in prayer to reflect on the life, virtues, and enduring legacy of St. Candida. It was a serene time of thanksgiving, honoring how "Little Juanita" answered God's call and planted the seeds of Hijas de Jesus education that continue to nurture souls today. The community reaffirmed its commitment to living out the core values of filiation, fraternity, hope, and joy.
By the afternoon, the solemn atmosphere transformed into an absolute explosion of energy. Guided by the theme, “Isang Pamilyang Puno ng Pag-asa: Bida ang Saya sa Pamilya ni Mother Candida!”, the Manresa School Faculty and Staff Organization (MSFSO) hosted a high-energy, Jollibee-style birthday bash at the School Canteen.
The celebration proved that even after 181 years, the spirit of Mother Candida remains young, vibrant, and alive in the hearts of the Manresa School family. Happy Birthday, Mother Candida!
