From Campaign to Commitment: The Journey of the 2026 Grade School MSGSB
JUL 14
“If your actions create a legacy that inspires others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, then you are an excellent leader.” - Dolly Parton
The Manresa School General Student Board (MSGSB) promotes servant leadership by representing the voice of the student body and communicating students' concerns to the school administration. Through this, the MSGSB encourages responsible leadership and active participation among Manresans.
The excitement officially began on July 7–8, 2026, with the Room-to-Room Campaign. The parties and candidates visited different classrooms to confidently present their ideas and platforms to their fellow students, giving everyone the opportunity to learn more about those aspiring to become the next student leaders.
The campaign continued on July 9, 2026, as all students from Grades 4 to 6 gathered in the auditorium for the Meeting de Avance. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as students eagerly waited to hear more from the candidates. During the event, the panel asked thought- provoking questions such as, “If you saw your best friend breaking school rules, what would you do?” and “Why did you join the MSGSB?” Each candidate gave different answers that reflected their ideas, values, and willingness to serve, helping students get to know them better before casting their votes.
The following week, the Grade School held the much-awaited Election Proper. On July 13, 2026, during the dismissal of online classes, a Google Form was posted in Google Classroom for the official voting. The election was conducted online, allowing students to vote from their homes. The process was carried out in a fair and orderly manner, giving every student an equal opportunity to choose the new set of MSGSB officers.
A day after the election, on July 14, 2026, the results were officially announced at the Old Gym. The newly elected officers were:
- President: Sanchez, Gian Crystlyn Y.
- Vice President: Bisuña, Gabriel P.
- Secretary: Nicolas, Joseph Alonzo Dimitri Y.
- Assistant Secretary: Navarro, Kaitlin Stacey E.
- Treasurer: Yoshizawa, Takamasa C.
- Assistant Treasurer: Balano, Quinn Fresnel T.
- Public Relations Officer (P. R. O.): Cenzon, Carlsson Adrian O.
- Grade 4 Level Representative: Guevarra, Athena Caithlene M.
- Grade 5 Level Representative: Valdez, Miguel Anghel R.
- Grade 6 Level Representative: Nakai, Samuel Zachary S.
The newly elected officers were formally welcomed during the Induction Ceremony on July 16, 2026, held at the auditorium. Pupils listened intently as the officers recited a solemn pledge, promising to serve Manresa with wholehearted dedication. Afterwards, students raised their hands toward the officers and offered prayers for them. The ceremony concluded with the officers carrying the cross around the auditorium, symbolizing their commitment to serve the Manresa School community with faith, dedication, and responsibility.
The MSGSB Elections 2026 may have come to an end, but the journey of serving the school community has only just begun. As the newly elected officers begin their term, they carry the responsibility of leading with humility, listening to the voices of their fellow students, and serving with integrity. After all, the true mark of leadership is not simply holding a title, but possessing a humble heart that is willing to serve others and make a positive difference in the community.
